A New Chapter Ahead

I am leaving Oklahoma. I just turned in two-week notice at work on Friday, and I'm feeling a lot more relieved. I have my loved one and family in Nevada, and I'm going to move there. I am a lot happier.

Recently, Oklahoma passed multiple laws clamping down on transgender rights, abortion, LGBTQ+ rights, education, and even recreational marijuana. I was questioning staying in Oklahoma given political situation, and I only had been employed for a few months. I am becoming worried that my webcomic project could be banned in Oklahoma in the near future if it get worse.

I also noticed that Nevada is becoming more progressive which was something that cemented my decision to leave Oklahoma. I am going to focus on my art and blogs full-time once I move in with my boyfriend and his family.

I think it's a good decision. Nevada elections are usually close and the good guys could use your vote.

Matt has the right idea, and you, Twedee, made the right decision. I don't have a significant other, but I have a close friend who does. She moved in with him a year or so ago and now, even though they are struggling, they have each other's company.

I'm sorry about the circumstances under which you're parting ways with Oklahoma. As I've discussed with Matt, I'm disappointed in the political climate America is in. It seems like ever since 2016, gaining votes, power, and dare I say control has been the goal of the big R's. Negotiation is nonexistent, political attacks are relentless, some constitutional rights are being threatened or flat out stripped from minorities and the LGBTQ+ community. Meanwhile, an abnormal weather problem is currently ravaging the globe. Either these guys have their priorities in the wrong place, or they just plain don't care. I'm betting on the latter.

Best wishes when you arrive in Nevada, especially since you'll be with your loved one (and his fam) and can continue your art projects without fear. Take care. =)
