October Newsletter

I am okay. I just needed some break, but I have been working on getting my art business and comics up in past weeks since I moved out of Oklahoma. With new chapter in life just starting, I'm making this the first newsletter for my work. I plan on making monthly newsletter on first Monday of each month. I had hit several bumps along the way, but I still persisted!
I got my blog website live and operational last month, and first blog post just got published. In the meantime, I have added some of behind-the-scene work in Patreon tiers, and lower tier would be just WIPs and graphic novel work. I have an additional tier for worldbuilding and more content for future projects.
After tweaking with social media, I figured newsletter would be much better than social media after finding out how exhausting social media can be! I prefer to make more quality content at lower frequency. Also, mainstream social media aren't known for being supportive of independent creatives. My partner and I have some older video equipment lying around, so I might make use of them for my own YouTube art channel for relaxation and music later down the road. I add content to Patreon on Mondays, and my monthly blog post goes out on first Monday of each month.
My main reason for not using mainstream social media is being overwhelmed by social media. Seeing so much content in short time can be tiring! So I want to give audience content at more steady pace while learning to make higher quality content.
One thing that seemed to be doing well for me to my surprise is Pinterest. Despite being somewhat active for a month on Pinterest, I netted in 760 monthly views and 808 impressions as of writing. 25 engagements in past month is a good sign.
For my graphic novel, I got the ball rolling for prologue and Chapter 1. In fact, I'll end up getting first two inked pages colored this week! I also put a couple things in my shops! One of them is holiday-themed coloring page, and another is watercolor/ink piece of supercell thunderstorm over open field. In meantime, I'm learning how to work with SEO and blogging skills.
